What are Ceramic Bonded Pads?
Ceramic-bonded pads are polishing pads manufactured by combining abrasive grains (usually diamond dust) with a ceramic bonding material. This bonding makes the pad harder and more aggressive. They are more durable and long-lasting than resin-bonded pads.
Features and Advantages of Ceramic Bonded Pads
Aggressive Cutting: The ceramic bond holds the diamond grains tightly, allowing the pad to cut more aggressively. This is ideal for rapid initial material removal, especially on hard concrete surfaces.
Long-Lasting: Because they are harder than resin-bonded pads, they are more resistant to wear, resulting in a longer lifespan.
Heat Resistance: They are more resistant to high temperatures, which allows them to perform better against the friction heat generated during the concrete polishing process.
Wet and Dry Use: They can be used for both wet and dry polishing. Wet use helps control dust and can extend the life of the pad, while dry use can provide faster results.
Areas of Use
Concrete Floor Polishing: Ceramic-bonded pads are typically used in the initial stages of polishing concrete floors, namely the coarse and medium abrasive stages. These stages remove any imperfections, stains, or old coatings from the surface.
Terrazzo and Natural Stone: They can be preferred not only for concrete but also for polishing and restoring other hard surfaces such as terrazzo, marble and granite.
